The first-ever beetroot rub
Better Off Red is exactly what it says: the first beetroot rub, ever. Bulldozer took their American barbecue traditions and wandered off somewhere gourmet — the way Australians actually eat — and landed on a deep-red, incredibly fragrant rub that's good on far more than you'd guess.
The flavour
It leads with the natural sweetness of roasted beetroot, then layers in the earthy bitterness of arabica coffee and a slight heat from ancho chilli. Underneath sit the surprises — fenugreek, sumac, cumin, green mango and a whisper of nutmeg — with Victorian Pink Lake salt grounding the lot. Sweet and earthy without ever tipping over, and seriously aromatic.
How to cook with it
- Rub into pork or chicken, smoked, grilled or pan-seared
- Take it to salmon and other seafood
- Make the most of it on duck and game — it's a standout on kangaroo
- Toss it through roast veg for a sweet, earthy hit

A deep beetroot-red blend, coarse and fragrant, sweet-earthy on the nose from the coffee and beetroot with a slight chilli warmth. One of the more distinctive rubs you'll ever tip out of a jar.

DUE TO ACCIDENTAL ORDER OR CHANGE OF MINDWe offer refunds and/or exchanges, providing a request for return is received within 30 days of your order being delivered. Your item must be in its original packaging and in the same condition that you received it.
The return shipping costs will be the responsibility of you, the customer. For domestic orders (AUS & USA) a prepaid shipping label can be provided, with the associated costs being deducted from the refunded amount. International (Asia) returns will need to be arranged by the customer, and will require a tracking number.
Any refund or exchange will only be issued once the original item has been shipped back to us.
DUE TO DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED ITEM
In the unlikely event you receive a defective or damaged item, we offer you the choice of a full refund or a replacement. We will cover all return shipping costs.
