Four ingredients, one national title. Bulldozer's SPOG was chosen Best All-Purpose BBQ Rub by the Australasian Barbecue Alliance — the body that sanctions the competition BBQ circuit across Australia and New Zealand — and it earned that the honest way, on freshness alone. Salt, pepper, onion, garlic. Don't underestimate it.
The flavour
It all rides on the salt: a special grind of Pink Lake salt from the Dimboola lakes in Victoria, all soft mineral character rather than a flat, sharp bite. Around it sits fresh granulated onion and garlic, plus black pepper cracked to a few different sizes — so you get savoury depth up front and a gentle peppery grip on the finish. No sugar, no chilli, no filler. Just the four things, done properly.
How to cook with it
- Undercoat a brisket for a coarser, craggier bark
- Season steaks, snags and chops before they hit the grill
- Build a proper jalapeño popper on the back of it
- Shower it over roast spuds and veg
- Run it solo as the classic Central Texas standalone rub
In the shaker
A dry, free-running blend of coarse and cracked black pepper flecked through white salt and granulated onion and garlic. The mix of grinds means it clings to a wet surface and builds real texture. No heat at all, so the whole table's welcome.

DUE TO ACCIDENTAL ORDER OR CHANGE OF MINDWe offer refunds and/or exchanges, providing a request for return is received within 30 days of your order being delivered. Your item must be in its original packaging and in the same condition that you received it.
The return shipping costs will be the responsibility of you, the customer. For domestic orders (AUS & USA) a prepaid shipping label can be provided, with the associated costs being deducted from the refunded amount. International (Asia) returns will need to be arranged by the customer, and will require a tracking number.
Any refund or exchange will only be issued once the original item has been shipped back to us.
DUE TO DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED ITEM
In the unlikely event you receive a defective or damaged item, we offer you the choice of a full refund or a replacement. We will cover all return shipping costs.
