Black Harvest Super Extreme is built around Chocolate Carolina Reaper — one of the hottest chillies on the planet — and it does not apologise for it. This one exists for the drawer of hot sauces that never gets opened for guests, the bottle that comes out when someone at the table says "I can handle it." Use it a drop at a time, and mean it.
The flavour
It opens deceptively gentle — ripe tomato and sweet onion carrying a savoury, almost roasted first note. Underneath, the Chocolate Reaper brings a dark, faintly fruity, cocoa-like depth before cumin and white pepper round the mid-palate out. Then the heat arrives, and it builds hard and stays — a slow, spreading burn that outlasts the flavour it rode in on.
How to use it
- Dot sparingly onto fried or scrambled eggs for a proper wake-up call
- Stir a few drops through a pot of chilli con carne to push it into serious heat territory
- Brush thinly over a resting steak before it hits the board
- Dilute into melted butter or mayo as a wing sauce base — control the burn, keep the flavour
- Splash into tacos or nachos for chilli heads only
