Heat: Mild — a gentle chipotle warmth, not a hot condiment
Size: 250g
Origin: The Feedlot (Australian BBQ sauce & rub maker)
Dietary: Gluten free, no MSG, no added preservatives (brand claims). Contains egg — always check the physical label
Best on: Burgers, chips, onion rings, grilled meats, wraps and sandwiches
Lot Sauce is The Feedlot's smoky BBQ mayo, built around their own Trailblazer sauce rather than being just another squeeze-bottle condiment. Worth flagging up front: this is a mayo base, not a pourable tomato or mustard sauce like the rest of the range — think dolloping and spreading, not pouring and mopping. Made for the stuff that goes on top of everything else.
Front is creamy egg-yolk richness with a tang from mustard and lemon juice. Mid-palate brings the smoky tomato-vinegar character of the Trailblazer sauce it's built on, rounded out with a touch of honey. The finish carries a gentle chipotle warmth that lingers without taking over.
Pale golden-brown and thick, with visible flecks of spice through it — spoonable rather than pourable, holding its shape on a burger instead of running off.
Ingredients: Sunflower oil, Trailblazer BBQ sauce, egg yolk, mustard, turmeric, honey, lemon juice, chipotle powder.
Dietary: Gluten free, no MSG, no added preservatives (brand claims). Contains egg (egg yolk) — always check the physical label.
Mayo and BBQ sauce got married and had a very smoky baby — that's Lot Sauce. Darryl reckons it earns a spot next to the tomato sauce, not instead of it, especially once it's dolloped on a burger loaded with Butchers Axe Bullseye Beef Rub-seasoned patties. Shake some Meat Church Holy Voodoo Seasoning over the chips on the side and you've basically built the perfect pub feed at home.
Is Lot Sauce the same as a BBQ sauce?
No — it's a mayo-based condiment built around The Feedlot's own Trailblazer sauce, not a pourable tomato or mustard sauce. Expect a thick, spoonable texture rather than a pouring one.
Does it contain egg?
Yes — egg yolk is a listed ingredient, so it's not suitable for an egg allergy. Always check the physical label for full allergen details.
How hot is it?
Mild — chipotle powder gives it a gentle warmth, not a serious heat hit.
What's it best on?
Burgers, chips, onion rings, grilled meats, wraps and sandwiches — basically anything that wants a smoky mayo kick.
