Pork Priest is the all-rounder built to make everyday pork taste like a special occasion. From the award-winning Firehouse Barbecue competition team, it balances sweet, savoury and deep umami with a gentle warmth — the kind of seasoning you reach for at every backyard cook with family and friends.
Sweetness leads on the front palate, then rolls into a savoury, umami-rich middle with a soft, rounded spice. The heat is gentle rather than fiery — a warm background hum that flatters pork without ever fighting it, finishing clean and moreish.
A fine-to-medium, free-flowing blend that spreads into an even coat and clings to oiled meat. It dissolves into a glossy, savoury layer over a long cook rather than sitting dusty on the surface.
Ingredients: Sugar, Salt, Spices, Flavour Enhancer (621), Anti-caking Agent (551).
Dietary: Made on the same equipment as products that contain soy, sesame, gluten, peanuts and tree nuts — always check the physical label.
Word from the docks: this is the jar that turns a decent bit of pork into something the neighbours talk about — sweet, savoury and deep with umami. Glaze your ribs late with Carolina Smoke Peach Bourbon Glaze, then finish pulled pork with a cool drizzle of BBQ Mafia Big Paulie Alabama White Sauce. Rub it in the night before and let it melt into the meat.
Is Pork Priest hot?
No — the heat is mild and gentle, a warm background note rather than a chilli burn. It suits the whole family.
Is it only for pork?
Pork is its home ground, but the sweet-savoury balance makes it a genuine all-purpose seasoning — great on chicken, veg and roast potatoes too.
When should I apply it?
For big cuts like ribs and shoulder, season the night before so the flavour has time to sink in. A dusting just before cooking works for quick cooks.
Is it gluten free?
There's no gluten ingredient in the blend, but it's made on shared equipment, so we list it as gluten friendly — always check the physical label.
