The sweet spot for a household that cooks every week. Four or five pieces, a big-name import and a full bottle of sauce. One month might hand you Hardcore Carnivore Red for the pork ribs and Kosmos Q Honey Jalapeño to lacquer them; the next, Butchers Axe Big Bark for a Sunday brisket. A month of proper cooks, sorted before you've even opened the fridge.

🏴‍☠️ Darryl's Secret: First Mate's Sticky Pork Ribs

A full rack, a crate rub and the crate sauce — the cook this box was built for.

You'll need: 1 rack pork spare ribs, about 1.5kg; 3 tbsp of the crate rub; 1 tbsp yellow mustard as a binder; ½ cup of the crate's BBQ sauce; 100ml apple juice in a spray bottle.

Do this:

  1. Peel the membrane, smear the mustard thin, then season heavily with the rub. Rest 30 minutes.
  2. Smoke at 120°C for 3 hours, spritzing with apple juice every 45 minutes once the bark sets.
  3. Wrap in foil with a splash of juice for 1½ hours, until a probe slides between the bones like butter (around 93°C).
  4. Unwrap, brush with sauce and give it 20–30 minutes to tack up. Rest 10 minutes and slice between the bones.

We don't see many returns — but if something isn't right, get in touch and we'll work through it together. Our full returns process applies to orders within Australia, returned within 30 days of purchase in their original, unopened condition, with proof of purchase.

We're not able to offer refunds for change of mind, so please choose carefully before checking out. Clearance and run-out items are sold as final sale, and gift cards can't be returned or refunded under any circumstances. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or isn't what you ordered, contact us with a few photos and we'll arrange the best fix.
