The flagship championship sauce from Kansas City's Meat Mitch — the one that's earned its stripes on the world barbecue circuit. Sweet with a lick of heat, glossy and clingy, and built to make ribs squeal.
The flavour
A rich, sweet tomato-and-molasses base with tangy vinegar and a gentle chilli warmth. Balanced, glossy and moreish.
Perfect on
Pork ribs and pulled pork, brisket, chicken and burgers. Glaze it on late in the cook, or serve it at the table.
In the bottle
A thick, glossy competition-style BBQ sauce that clings and caramelises. Sweet with moderate heat.
The lowdown
Ingredients: Sugar, tomato paste, water, distilled vinegar, apple cider vinegar, salt, spices (including chili peppers and paprika), molasses, dehydrated onion and garlic, natural smoke flavor, natural flavor.

The Rub Smuggler's Verdict
🏴☠️ Darryl's Secret: Sticky Pulled Pork Rolls
A long cook with a very short queue.
You'll need: 2kg pork shoulder; 3 tbsp of your favourite pork rub; 1 cup WHOMP! Competition BBQ Sauce; 8 soft rolls.
Do this:
- Rub the shoulder and smoke at 120°C until it probes like butter at about 94°C — allow 8–10 hours, and wrap in foil at around 70°C if you want it quicker.
- Rest it wrapped for 1 hour, then pull it apart.
- Toss the meat with the sauce and pile into the rolls.
Why it works: Saucing after you pull means every strand gets a coat, not just the outside.
