Original is the Butchers Axe everyday BBQ sauce — the rich, smoky, tangy bottle that belongs on every rib, every drumstick and every plate of pulled pork. Tomato-and-molasses deep with a hickory-smoke backbone and a bright vinegar lift, it's balanced enough to slather, glaze or dunk. This is the one you'll be buying on repeat.
The flavour
Sweet and tomatoey up front from tomato, honey and molasses, then a tangy middle from vinegar and apple cider vinegar cuts the richness. It finishes deep and smoky with a whisper of spice — a proper all-rounder that clings and caramelises beautifully under heat.
How to cook with it
- Glaze pork or beef ribs in the last stretch of the cook for a sticky lacquer.
- Brush over chicken on the grill for smoky, caramelised skin.
- Stir through pulled pork or brisket for a rich, tangy finish.
- Serve as a dunking sauce for snags, wings and chips.
In the bottle
A glossy deep-red sauce with a thick, pourable body. It smells of tomato, molasses and hickory smoke and coats meat evenly, caramelising into a sticky glaze on the grill.

DUE TO ACCIDENTAL ORDER OR CHANGE OF MINDWe offer refunds and/or exchanges, providing a request for return is received within 30 days of your order being delivered. Your item must be in its original packaging and in the same condition that you received it.
The return shipping costs will be the responsibility of you, the customer. For domestic orders (AUS & USA) a prepaid shipping label can be provided, with the associated costs being deducted from the refunded amount. International (Asia) returns will need to be arranged by the customer, and will require a tracking number.
Any refund or exchange will only be issued once the original item has been shipped back to us.
DUE TO DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED ITEM
In the unlikely event you receive a defective or damaged item, we offer you the choice of a full refund or a replacement. We will cover all return shipping costs.
