Meat Juice is Rum and Que's original-blend BBQ sauce and glaze in one — the sweet, maple-backed bottle that brushes onto ribs, sauces a burger and glazes a bird with equal ease. It's gluten free, competition-bred, and the one that ends up on everything once it's open.

The flavour

Sweet and glossy up front — maple and date syrup over tangy cider vinegar and tomato, rounded out with garlic, Worcester and warm spice. It's rich and sticky rather than sharp, with a smooth, moreish finish and no chilli heat.

How to cook with it

• Mop it onto pork ribs in the last 20 minutes of the cook so it sets into a sticky, glossy glaze.
• Brush over chicken pieces on the grill for a lacquered, caramelised skin.
• Spoon it straight onto a brisket burger or pulled-pork roll as a sweet BBQ sauce.
• Glaze a whole ham and bake until it blisters and shines.
• Stir a spoonful through pan juices or baked beans for instant BBQ depth.

In the bottle

A thick, pourable, dark-mahogany sauce with a glossy sheen. It clings to a basting brush and sets to a sticky glaze under heat, so add it late rather than early to avoid catching.
