Serious, no-nonsense BBQ flavour

Low n Slow Basics is a boutique range of BBQ rubs, seasonings, sauces and jerky, handcrafted in South Australia by BBQ identity and former butcher Aaron Palmer. He built it to bottle a butcher's-eye obsession with fire, smoke and proper low-and-slow technique — the same craft he teaches to close to 500,000 followers across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Every blend is protein-specific rather than one-size-fits-all: a dedicated beef rub for steak and brisket, a lamb-and-game rub built around sumac, a honey-soy blend tuned to pork and chicken, and a chilli-citrus rub for wings and chops, plus grass-fed beef jerky and a smoky jalapeño-and-whiskey BBQ sauce to finish it off.

Start with the best-selling Steak Shooter, the beef rub that started it all and builds a deep, mahogany crust on anything from a scotch fillet to a full brisket, then work through the coffee-kissed Beef Bounce and the do-anything Garlic Goals seasoning that lives next to the stove.

The difference is in the specificity: where most ranges lean on one all-purpose shaker, Aaron builds a dedicated rub for each protein, tested on real briskets and ribs before it ever reaches a shelf.

That know-how has carried him onto national TV, competing on My Kitchen Rules in 2023 off the back of his BBQ credentials. Serious, no-nonsense flavour from a bloke who lives and breathes the smoker.
